These are two different restaurants in two very different spaces. Handle, located just off of Park City's Historic Main Street, stands out in a town that caters to visitors where some operators, frankly, phone it in. HSL, on the edge of downtown SLC, is Handle's cousin in the city.

HSL – my top pick.At this downtown SLC restaurant chef Briar Handly always ensures there's a fried chicken dish on the menu; the specifics change with the season but what doesn't is that gloriously perfect fried bone-in chicken!

In the beginning, there was Handle restaurant in Park City. And it was good. So good, in fact, that Handle begat HSL restaurant – HSL stands for Handle Salt Lake. And it, too, is good … really, really good. Some of the food, in fact, looks nearly too good to eat.
